Kauai ATV Tour
Explore beautiful, remote wilderness on a Kauai ATV Tour. Highly trained guides and dune buggy like off road vehicles allow even the novice rider to navigate the rugged back country environments of the Garden Island. If you’ve been riding all your life or are just curious about the sport, get ready for an experience of a lifetime! Guides number one goal is safety, but their passion is sharing stories about Kauai’s history and culture. Our Kauai ATV tour is the only off-road excursion into one of the largest, most desirable private properties on island. This lush jungle, landscape with sweeping mountain view has been the set of many movies including Jurassic park. You will also rally through a mountain tunnel, used by the sugar cane industry for decades to connect two of Kauai’s most beautiful back country areas.
Choose from a two-person, or four-person dune buggy. These are the same types of dune buggy the Israeli army uses in combat (minus the machine gun). The best word to describe these one-of-a kind off road vehicles is “Rugged”. Two-person dune buggies are great for newlyweds and couples who want to experience the adventure as a team. Save $25 per couple when purchasing driver and passenger seat in a two person dune buggy. Passengers at least 16 years old (with valid drivers license) can switch with drivers at no extra charge. Sitting side by side, you can converse with your teammate as you navigate the property’s expansive terrain. Four-person buggies are great for families, especially if traveling with youngsters who aren’t old enough to drive their own vehicles. Kauai ATV Tour bandannas are given to all guests as a souvenir from the tour.
Don’t forget your suit, this 26-mile round trip Kauai ATV Tour offers an awesome swimming and waterfall experience at our remote lunch location. Enjoy a dip with your family at this private spot only accessible off-road adventure. Seating is limited. Reserve your families dune buggy today!

In ancient Hawaii, sugarcane was a valuable crop grown in small patches for subsistence agriculture. It became a monetarily valuable commodity with the influx of missionary settlers in Hawaii and subsequently historic Koloa town was built around the sugarcane industry. The ATV tour is located on the south shore’s Grove Farm property. This area was an early destination for sugarcane agriculture due to its proximity to hydroelectric power, an open trade port, and the surrounding fertile soil. In 1835, Kōloa town became one of the first successful plantation towns surrounding Koloa Sugar Mill. In the first year, only twelve acres of cane were planted due to conflicts of labor and land rights. The first mill could only produce a small amount of sugar due to the technology of that time. As their wooden rollers wore out and were replaced by steel, production steadily increased as the years went on. Growth of the Kōloa’s sugarcane industry created the first large-scale globalization of the Hawaiian Islands. Migrant workers traveled from many corners of the world to work in the field around Koloa. In 1912, the larger Koloa mill was built in the current location where it now stands abandoned.
